Back in 2010  and then later again in 2015the name Davies Abogados Solicitors and Barristers was used by the Nigerian Letters Scam Fraudsters . Now it is happening again.

The Nigerian letter scam (also known as the 419 scam )has many variations :False lottery, requesting help to get money out of Nigeria for a corrupt official , false inheritance etc.

In the case of the false inheritance scam one of the variations is to use the names of real firms of solicitors in their e-mails /letters. They use the name of real firms so that when the receiver does some research online they come across what is a true firm of lawyers making the letters/e-mails seem more trustworthy.

They are sending out thousands of e-mails and sometimes letters pretending to be us and other  firms of reputable Spanish solicitors that deal with inheritance work  , but with a telephone number and email  belonging to the criminals.

The e-mail basically states that you or someone with your name  has inherited 12 million euro and to call them or e-mail  (on a number and e-mail  which is of course not ours ) .

Needless to say these are completely fraudulent e-mails.

If you received one of these emails/letters you can either report it to the police or simply bin it. Needless to say if you have actually parted with any money you should report it to the police.
